Martin-Eric Gauthier won the Magic Online Champions Showcase Season 2 Finals on Saturday with Selesnya Company in Modern.

Gauthier won the Vintage Cube Draft section of the tournament with an archetypal Mono-Red Aggro deck to make the finals and face Daniel Goetschel, who won the Modern section of the event with Jund Death’s Shadow (Lurrus), in the finals.

Gauthier brought Selesnya Company to the table for Modern and won a quick first game. In Game 2, Gauthier was facing down two fully-leveled up Hexdrinkers. With Heliod, Sun-Crowned, Auriok Champion, and Skyclave Apparition on the battlefield, Gauthier peeled a Collected Company to provide a Spike Feeder and an extra Apparition to gain infinite life and take the match and tournament.

Gauthier won $20,000 and an invite to the Strixhaven Championship. Goetschel earned $15,000 for his runner-up finish. Final standings can be seen below.
