Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Ethan Fleischer, check out a new legendary creature from Modern Horizons 2 that’s more than twenty years in the making — Garth One-Eye!

Garth was the main character of Arena — the first Magic novel. He’s a mage who has mastered all the colors of Magic and can cast any spell from Alpha, so take a look at what he can do in the game itself.
T: Choose a card name that hasn’t been chosen from among Disenchant, Braingeyser, Terror, Shivan Dragon, Regrowth, and Black Lotus. Create a copy of the card with the chosen name. You may cast the copy. (You still pay its costs.)
For WUBRG, Garth is a 5/5 Human Wizard with the ability to make a copy of some of the most iconic cards in Alpha.
Garth gives you the flexibility to destroy a nonblack, nonartifact creature with Terror, destroy an artifact or enchantment with Disenchant, drop a huge flying creature with Shivan Dragon, return any card in your graveyard to your hand with Regrowth, draw X cards with Braingeyser, or ramp up three mana once with Black Lotus.
Garth looks to be a hit for Commander, but we’ll have to wait and see if he shows up in Modern or any other constructed formats.
What do you think of Garth One-Eye? Can he make it in any formats that don’t require 100 cards? Let us know in the comments below!
