Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Dungeons & Dragons, take a look at three exciting new cards from the upcoming set Adventures in the Forgotten Realms — Lolth, Spider Queen, Bruenor, Battlehammer, and Drizzt Do’Urden!

Lolth, Spider Queen

Whenever a creature you control dies, put a loyalty counter on Lolth, Spider Queen.

0: You draw a card and lose 1 life.

-3: Create two 2/1 black Spider creature tokens with menace and reach.

-8: You get an emblem with “Whenever an opponent is dealt combat damage by one or more creatures you control, if that player lost less than 8 life this turn, they lose life equal to the difference.

One of the first planeswalkers to be revealed from Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, Lolth is a force to be reckoned with. Starting with four loyalty, the Spider Queen can either take advantage of an empty battlefield with her zero ability, or use her -3 to create two 2/1 Spiders that are great for both blocking and attacking, thanks to their keywords: reach and menace.

Bruenor Battlehammer

Each creature you control gets +2/+0 for each Equipment attached to it.

You may pay 0 rather than pay the equip cost of the first equip ability you activate each turn.

True to Dwarven flavor, Bruenor is a four-mana 5/3 that fits perfectly in Equipment-based decks. Bruenor also debuts the brand-new Rulebook Showcase Frame, which is modeled after the iconic illustrations from classic Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks.

Drizzt Do’Urden

Double Strike

When Drizzt Do’Urden enters the battlefield, create Guenhwyvar, a legendary 4/1 green Cat creature token with trample.

Whenever a creature dies, if it had power greater than Drizzt’s power, put a number of +1/+1 counters on Drizzt equal to the difference.

A sweet Selesnya card, Drizzt enters the battlefield accompanied by Guenhwyvar, a 4/1 legendary green Cat creature token. Seven power for five mana is a solid deal, and if Guenhwyvar or any other creature you control that has power greater than Drizzt dies, he gets really big really fast.
