Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and The Command Zone, check out a massive mana rock from Core Set 2021 that’ll satisfy any Commander player — Chromatic Orrery.
Rarely do mana rocks tap for five mana or enter the battlefield untapped, nor do they cost seven mana like Chromatic Orrery. For the same amount of mana, you could play Karn Liberated you get three cool abilities on a permanent that can’t really be attacked down.
You may spend mana as though it were mana of any color.
First up, you get the Chromatic Lantern ability of letting you make mana of any color to play whatever you want.
T: Add five colorless mana.
Then, you get a five-mana rebate on your investment that can be used to play anything from Golos, Tireless Pilgrim to Niv-Mizzet Reborn. And you don’t have to work to untap it.
5, T: Draw a card for each color among permanents you control.
Don’t have a payoff in hand to use Chromatic Orrery to cast? No problem, use the third ability and draw some cards.
Chromatic Orrery definitely looks like it will slot right into Commander decks using three or more colors, but will truly shine with commanders like Reaper King, Child of Alara, and any of the five-color Slivers.
