Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Destructoid, check out a new sweeper with cleave from Innistrad: Crimson Vow — Path of Peril!
For three mana you get to destroy all creatures with mana value 2 or less. Not too shabby, but what if it could also destroy all creatures?
Cleave 4WB (You may cast this spell for its cleave cost. If you do, remove the words in square brackets.)
Destroy all creatures [with mana value 2 or less].
Cleave solves all your problems. Add some more mana (a white mana, in particular) and you can take care of every creature on the battlefield. While six mana is a lot for a conventional Wrath of God equivalent, it’s really only one more than what this effect is costed as of late. And with the flexibility of Path of Peril at three mana, players will likely will be fine with the bump in casting cost for the versatility.
What do you think of Path of Peril? Is this the new sweeper of choice in Standard?
Innistrad: Crimson Vow is currently scheduled for release on November 19. View our official preview gallery.
