AbramG_MTG_12-3’s Gruul deck checked all the boxes for a powerful green and red draft deck. It had big creatures, solid removal, and a great curve topping out with game-ending bombs with a companion to tie it all together. Yidaro, Wandering Monster and Kogla, the Titan Ape are huge threats that impact the battlefield the turn they’re played combining with early pressure from cards like Prickly Marmoset and Sonorous Howlbonder. Two copies of Humble Naturalist allow the deck to play creatures like Ferocious Tigorilla and Auspicious Starrix ahead of schedule.
AbramG_MTG_12-3 had to beat GMANSokol on a strong Dimir deck in the finals. GMANSokol had the usual counterspells and removal along with plenty of creatures that draw cards or kill creatures like Dreamtail Heron, Bushmeat Poacher, Zagoth Mamba, and Chittering Harvester.
