Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and the latest episode of the March of the Machine story, check out the latest iteration of Wrenn — Wrenn and Realmbreaker!
After Nissa destroyed Seven, Wrenn successfully grafts with the Realmbreaker giving us this new three-mana planeswalker.
Wrenn and Realmbreaker start at four loyalty counters and has the static effect of giving your lands the ability to tap for any color of mana.
- +1: Up to one target land you control becomes a 3/3 Elemental creature with vigilance, hexproof, and haste until your next turn. It’s still a land.
- -2: Mill three cards. You may put a permanent card from among the milled cards into your hand.
- -7: You get an emblem with “You may play lands and cast permanent spells from your graveyard.”
Wrenn’s +1 makes one of your lands a 3/3 with vigilance, hexproof, and haste, but notably remains a creature until your next turn. This allows it to attack and defend, while tapping for mana when you need it while your opponent can’t target it.
Her -2 is great for graveyard synergies or helping you find a specific card. Lastly, her ultimate makes your graveyard another hand, paying off filling up your graveyard.
Being three mana puts Wrenn and Realmbreaker on everyone’s radar, as a Turn-2 planeswalker always has potential power. Will she show up in older formats or become a Standard staple?
