Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has released their weekly MTG Arena update that includes details on the upcoming Explorer Anthology, new Alchemy set, future events, and more.
Best-Of-Three Qualifier Play-In This Friday
Battle in some Best-of-Three The Brothers’ War Sealed on Friday for a chance to earn an invite for the Qualifier Weekend, following on Saturday and Sunday. Win four matches without a loss on Friday to qualify for the Qualifier Weekend, which will also be Best-of-Three The Brothers’ War Sealed. Entry fee for the Play-In event is 20,000 gold, 4,000 gems, or 20 Play-In Points. Players that earn seven wins on Day 2 of the Qualifier Weekend snag 5,000 gems and an invite to the Arena Championship and Pro Tour. More details can be found here.
Explorer Anthology 2 Previews Still Coming
Previews are still rolling out for Explorer Anthology 2, which hits MTG Arena on December 13. So far, 21 of the 25 cards in the second influx of cards to Explorer and Historic have been previewed. On top of Wastes, which will be added to all players’ collections, the 21 previewed cards are:

This expansion will be available on December 13. Cards can be crafted individually or purchased in a bundle for 4,000 gems or 25,000 gold.
Alchemy: The Brothers’ War Previews
The next batch of cards for Alchemy arrive on December 9, including 30 new cards. So far, 23 of the cards have been previewed. Check out the new cards, their accompanying spellbooks, and more here.
Country Flag Sleeve Changes
Starting on December 13, players will no longer see opposing players’ card sleeves if the opponent is using country-specific flag sleeves. Players who have these types of sleeves will still have them in their collection and will see them if used. Opponents with country-specific flags will appear as the default card back. Players will get 300 gems back for each country-specific flag card sleeve. More details are availalbe here.
Brothers’ Brawl Continues
Players can participate in the Brothers’ Brawl event until December 9. Pick a side (Urza or Mishra) and enjoy playing in any number of Best-of-One matches, earning Schematic card styles for your first five wins. The event will cost 5,000 gold or 1,000 gems to enter.
