Metal MTG Printing Plate Opened From New Secret Lair Drop

Bonus card slot for some Secret Lair drops may contain more than just cardboard

A Magic: The Gathering content creator got a unique surprise while unboxing an upcoming Secret Lair drop — an authentic metal printing plate.

Uploaded as a Short to the Good Time Society YouTube channel, host Becca Scott discovered the metal card while doing an early unboxing of the Return to the Mystical Archive Secret Lair drop. The plate appeared in what would typically be the bonus card slot, plastic sealed, with text on the back reading “This is an authentic printing plate used in the production of Secret Lair Omens of Chaos.”

Both Return to the Mystical Archive and Omens of Chaos were part of Secret Lair’s recent Back to School Superdrop, which included eight individual drops. At this time, the printing plate Chance for Glory is one-of-a-kind, but as noted above, Good Time Society received their product early, so it’s likely we’ll see more of these unique extras in coming weeks as more drops are opened.
