The official Chinese Magic: The Gathering Facebook page revealed what appears to be some Magic: The Gathering — FINAL FANTASY-inspired metal tokens that will be available exclusively at WPN stores in Asia starting today.
These special promo tokens feature new art versions of a Clue token and a Treasure token, while the emblem for Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel uses the art of the borderless version of Sephiroth by Tetsuya Nomura. The Clue and Treasure token illustrations were made by Toshiyuki Itahana.
While it is unclear how players can get these tokens, the reveal notes that they will only be available in WPN stores in Southeast Asia, North Asia and China. They will be available as long as supplies last at events between June 13-July 24. It appears more details will be revealed on which events will award the new tokens.
Notably, the promo slide only shows digital versions of the tokens with the caption “Material: Metal” so it isn’t confirmed that the tokens are made of metal or just appear that way. If players post pictures of the new tokens, this article will be updated with more images and information.
