Amber Glenn, figure skater for Team USA, captured the attention of millions at the Winter Olympics, not only with her outstanding performance on the ice, but also her passion for Magic: The Gathering.

While Magic is still considered a niche interest to most, it’s becoming more main-stream thanks to celebrities, athletes, and other public figures speaking proudly about their “nerdy” hobbies.

Back in 2023, Post Malone became the celebrity face of Magic after purchasing the serialized 1-of-1 The One Ring card from The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth for over $2M, and earlier this month, musician Steve Aoki showed off his collection of Traveling Chocobos from Magic: The Gathering | FINAL FANTASY on his TikTok page that’s dedicated to his love of trading card games.

Now, Glenn has become Magic’s newest celebrity ambassador, showcasing her hobby on one of the world’s biggest stages.

After taking home a gold medal for the team skating event and placing fifth in the women’s free skate, Glenn celebrated by opening Collector booster packs of Lorwyn Eclipsed during the closing ceremony.

Over on her personal Instagram and TikTok pages, you can find more videos of Glenn enjoying her off-the-ice hobby, which include trips to her favorite card shops, teaching her teammate, Alysa Liu, how to play Commander, and an entire playlist dedicated to other “Nerdy Stuff.”
