MTG Arena Update Details Launch Of Streets Of New Capenna

Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has release their weekly MTG Arena update, including details on the launch of Streets of New Capenna, several new events, and more.

Streets of New Capenna Launch

Magic: The Gathering’s newest set, Streets of New Capenna, is scheduled to release on MTG Arena on April 28. Unlike previous set launches, Streets of New Capenna will be first available at tabletop prerelease events the weekend of April 22 – the week prior to its MTG Arena debut.

Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Championship

The Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Championship will take place March 11-13 and will feature more than 230 players competing in Alchemy and Historic for $450,000 in prizes and six invitations to Magic World Championship XXVIII.

Neon Arcade Event

The Neon Arcade event continues through March 17 and features Singleton with a twist. Players will share a High Score emblem that reads, “Whenever you cast a spell, if its mana value is greater than the number of charge counters on High Score Emblem, put a number of charge counters on High Score Emblem equal to the difference and create a Treasure token. This ability triggers only once each turn.”

Entry fee for the event is 2,000 gold or 400 gems and awards gold and Soft Glow card styles. Each run lasts until you reach four wins or two losses. The prizes can be seen below:

Unbroken Blade Event

The Unbroken Blade event is scheduled for March 18-25 and will feature Alchemy Singleton with a special new emblem. Players will have a Studying the Blade emblem that reads, “Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, you may pay 1 life. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on that creature. Otherwise, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn.”

Entry fee for the event is 2,000 gold or 400 gems and awards gold and Samurai showcase card styles. Each run lasts until you reach four wins or two losses. The prizes can be seen below:

Out of the Shadows Event

The Out of the Shadows event is scheduled for March 25-April 1 and will feature Alchemy Singleton with a ninja-themed emblem. Players will have an Out of the Shadows emblem that reads, “Whenever one or more creatures you control deal combat damage to a player, a random creature card in your hand perpetually gets +1/+1. Until your next turn, you may cast creature spells as though they had flash.”

Entry fee for the event is 2,000 gold or 400 gems and awards gold and Ninja showcase card styles. Each run lasts until you reach four wins or two losses. The prizes can be seen below:
