MTG Arena Premier Play Schedule Updated Through April

Dates and formats revealed for future MTG Arena premier play offerings

Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced the dates and formats for most of the upcoming MTG Arena premier play events through April.

The premier play article rehashes the routes to the Arena Championships and tabletop Pro Tours and World Championship in 2023. Players that want to reach the biggest stage and highest levels of competition in Magic: The Gathering can get there through playing on MTG Arena by following the chart below.

Qualifier Play-Ins

Players can skip the ranked ladder grind and still compete thanks to Qualifier Play-Ins. These events offer Best-Of-One and Best-Of-Three options that qualify players for the following Qualifier Weekend that shares the same format as the Play-Ins. Entry fee for the Play-In events is 20,000 gold, 4,000 gems, or 20 Play-In Point (earned through doing well in MTG Arena events).

Best-Of-One

  • February 18 — Phyrexia: All Will Be One Limited
  • March 4 — Standard
  • April 1 — Explorer

Best-Of-Three

  • February 24 — Phyrexia: All Will Be One Limited
  • March 10 — Standard
  • April 7 — Explorer

Qualifier Weekends

Qualifier Weekends are the step between Play-Ins and the Arena Championships and tabletop Pro Tours. Reach the max number of wins on Day 2 to earn gems and an invite to the corresponding Arena Championship and Pro Tour.

  • February 25–26 — Phyrexia: All Will Be One Limited
  • March 11–12 — Standard
  • April 8–9 — Explorer

Qualifier Weekends from January through April queue players for Arena Championship 3. The Qualifier Weekends from May through August will qualify players for Arena Championship 4.

Arena Championships

Compete with the best of the best in small (32-player field) events with tons of cash and pride on the line. Battle it out for your share of a $200,000 prize pool, where the top two finishers also earn invites to the tabletop World Championship.

  • Arena Championship 2: March 18–19
  • Arena Championship 3: May (Date TBD)
  • Arena Championship 4: September/October (Date TBD)

Arena Opens

  • March 4–5 — Phyrexia: All Will Be One Limited
  • April 1–2 — Format TBD
  • April 29–30 — Format TBD

On top of winning $2,000, players that reach the maximum number of wins on Day 2 of Arena Opens will qualify for the following Qualifier Weekend.
