Details for the highly-anticipated preview panels for MagicCon: Amsterdam have been announced on the event’s website.
The panels will be split up over two days and feature much more than just card previews. The second preview panel, scheduled for July 18, will be a traditional set debut for MTG’s next set release, Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™. However, the first preview panel, set for July 17, will not only show previews for Reality Fracture but it will also offer a glimpse at the future of Magic.
The Preview Panel: Reality Fracture and the Future of the Magic Multiverse takes place from 6:30-7:30 PM on July 17 on the main stage and will cover much more than card previews. Mark Rosewater, Jackie Jones, Roy Graham, and Zakeel Gordon will go over how Reality Fracture is the end and beginning of the current Magic story arc and what it means for the future of the Magic Multiverse. Then they will announce the names of the three in-universe Magic sets coming in 2027.
There and Back Again – The Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™ Debut is set for 5:30-6:30 PM on July 18 on the main stage and will be a celebration of Magic’s return to Middle-earth. Gavin Verhey, Ashley Creech, and Zakeel Gordon will take players on a deep dive through the world of The Hobbit, reveal tons of previews, Booster Fun treatments, go over the mechanics of the set, and more.
It hasn’t been announced if the panels will be streamed, but usually Wizards of the Coast (WotC) records them and posts the videos to the Magic YouTube channel a few days after the event.
