Cynthia Williams has landed a new top job as CEO of Funko less than a month after she resigned as President of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Hasbro Gaming.
Williams notified Hasbro that she was leaving WotC on April 15, just over a week before Hasbro’s scheduled First Quarter 2024 Earnings report. She will take over as CEO of Funko and join the Funko Board of Directors on May 20. Funko is known for its brand of novelty big-headed dolls, the Funko Pop! figurines.
Williams served as as General Manager and Vice President, Gaming Ecosystem Commercial Team at Microsoft before landing the job at Hasbro. Michael Lunsford will remain Funko’s Interim CEO until Williams takes over on May 20. WotC has led the way for Hasbro despite the company holding multiple rounds of layoffs in 2023.
