The Magic: The Gathering Twitter account previewed two more of the 10 planeswalkers coming in Phyrexia: All Will Be One — one compleated and one that made it through uncorrupted.
Feast your eyes on Nahiri, the Unforgiving and Kaya, Intangible Slayer!
Nahiri, unfortunately, fell to the Phyrexians and now has swords for arms. Let’s check out the four-mana mythic rare with the compleated ability.
+1: Until your next turn, up to one target creature attacks a player each combat if able.
+1: Discard a card, then draw a card.
0: Exile target creature or equipment card with mana value less than Nahiri’s loyalty from your graveyard. Create a token that’s a copy of it. That token gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
Four mana for a five-loyalty planeswalker or three mana and two life for three loyalty gives you plenty of options with Nahiri. You can get her onto the battlefield early to start rummaging or forcing a creature to attack or you can play her later for more flexibility with her ultimate ability.
Kaya, on the other hand, made it out fine and gets hexproof in exchange for a seven-mana casting cost.
+2: Each opponent loses 3 life and you gain 3 life.
0: You draw two cards. Then each opponent may scry 1.
-3: Exile target creature or enchantment. If it wasn’t an aura, create a token that’s copy of it, except it’s a 1/1 Spirit creature with flying in addition to its other types.
Hexproof and six loyalty is a big deal. With a +2 that drains and gains three life on activation and a 0 ability that draws you two cards, Kaya is going to be tough to get off the battlefield. And if the battlefield is contested when you play her, for just three loyalty you can exile a creature or enchantment in exchange for a 1/1.
Phyrexia: All Will Be One is scheduled to release on February 10. View our official preview gallery.
