Ravensburger To Reevaluate Disney Lorcana Challenge Structure After Tickets Sell Out In Under A Minute

Changes are coming to Disney Lorcana Challenges after tickets sell out in 30 seconds

Disney Lorcana developer, Ravensburger, has announced they are looking to make changes to their recently unveiled Challenge circuit after tickets for their first United States event sold out in under one minute.

Last week, Ravensburger hosted their first Lorecast stream where they revealed details about Set 4, Ursula’s Return, as well as Disney Lorcana Challenge events. During this stream, the Disney Lorcana team stated that Challenges would be first-come-first-serve, ticketed events that would have a cap of 512 players. Challenges would also feature a new, Two-Game Swiss tournament structure, offer stunning promo cards, and award invites to more prestigious future events. They also revealed the dates for the first wave of Challenges, kicking off on May 25-26 in Atlanta, GA.

Tickets for Disney Lorcana Challenge: Atlanta went on-sale this past weekend, with an estimated 40,000 customers finding themselves waiting in a holding queue. When the dust settled, all 512 tickets sold out in under thirty seconds. Naturally, many of those who weren’t able to secure a ticket were turned off by the experience, and took to social media to voice their frustrations in hopes that the powers at be would reconsider the structure. Luckily, the Disney Lorcana team wasted no time in searching for potential solutions, and despite initial frustrations, the overwhelming turnout for Challenge tickets is ultimately a good sign that the game is growing, seeing as how the largest Disney Lorcana tournament to-date was just under 300 players.

While no concrete changes have been announced at this time, it seems the first steps will be to increase the player cap for all future Challenges and also potentially provide another round of tickets for Atlanta’s event in May. Any further ticket sales for the other upcoming Challenges will also be delayed until the Disney Lorcana team nails down their changes.
