Flesh And Blood’s Heavy Hitters Introduces Legendary Head Equipment With New Keyword

Behold the glory of Balance of Justice

Courtesy of Legend Story Studios (LSS), check out the new legendary head equipment from Flesh and Blood’s Heavy Hitters — Balance of Justice!

Balance of Justice is a generic head piece that introduces the new keyword Guardwell. Flesh and Blood creator, James Whites, teased this card back in November describing the upcoming keyword as one that lands “somewhere between Battleworn and Temper.” When a piece of equipment with Guardwell defends, put -1 counters on it equal to its defense when the combat chain closes. This keyword allows you to defend with the piece of equipment and keep it around in the arena to use its ability — even if Balance of Justice can no longer block any damage.

Balance of Justice has two defense and an instant ability that allows you to destroy it to draw a card if an opponent has drawn two or more cards this turn. On top of it being a flashy new generic head piece with a new keyword, Balance of Justice will also replace Crown of Providence as the new gold foil prize card for winners of Callings in 2024.

The beautiful art by Sebastian Giacobino for this new legendary will also grace the playmat and sleeves for players registering for the Fabled Main Event or Go Again packages at Pro Tour Los Angeles. PT LA players will get the Balance of Justice sleeves in addition to the Grandeur of Valahai playmat, entry to the Pro Tour Player Reception, and extended art cold foil Energy Potion promo card.

The Balance of Justice sleeves are produced by Dragon Shield and contain 100 card sleeves.

Heavy Hitters is schedule for release on February 2. If you’re going to Raise an Army with Kassai of the Golden Sand (both coming in Heavy Hitters) you’re going to need an army of Sellsword tokens. Preorder a booster case of Heavy Hitters from Star City Games to receive four (4) rainbow foil extended art Cintari Sellsword tokens while supplies last.

To get in on the Heavy Hitters action at a competitive level, plan to play in the Calling at SCG CON Hartford on February 3-4. The format is Heavy Hitters Limited, with PTIs, promo cards, and prize money on the line.
