Just Wild About Harry

Harry Potter’s got his own card game – why should he come to Magic? Because Magic deserves some magic too, darn it!

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who’s wanted to boot up Apprentice, open the deck editor, and put together Harry Potter.dec. Of course, the deck would be a Blue/White control deck featuring Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Albus Dumbledore as the win conditions.

But, that could never happen, right? I mean, Harry Potter’s got hisown card game – why should he come to Magic? Because Magic deserves some magic too, darn it! However, since Wizards is into the whole”Mirari is the driving force of all living creatures in Otaria” kick, we’ll have to make due with our own Harry Potter set. (Well, people have tried – I’ve already gotten one Harry Potter entry for my theme deck contestThe Ferrett, shamelessly reminding people the deadline is approaching) So, here I am, jumping on the bandwagon, and bringing you yet another blending of worlds. Anyone who’s read the Harry Potter books or who has at least seen the movie, should find these cards relatively amusing, and everyone else (yes, both of you) can get a hint as to what the whole thing’s about.

First of all, what Harry Potter expansion would be complete without its complement of Hogwarts students? Here are the kids we’d all expect in a Harry Potter expansion:

(Note: Wizard-in-Training is a new ability. Creatures with this ability get a Semester counter on them every turn. For every two Semester counters, put a +1/+1 counter on the creature. Continue until fourteen Semester counters have been put on the creature in this way and stop at that point.)

Also, if this has given you interest in what Wizards DOES have to offer for Harry Potter, surf over to Star City’s online store and check out some Harry Potter merchandise! {Looks around} What, what? So what if I want to spread the Potter love to the common people. There’s no shame in that!

Until next time!
