For the first pick I took Might Sliver over Temporal Isolation to make a point. Temporal Isolation is the superior card but if you’re going to draft Slivers you need a Might Sliver in the early goings. You could also start taking Bonesplitters and Watchers early and hope for the best but I wouldn’t really recommend it. The only real way to draft Slivers is to be some combination of Green Red and White (usually two of those and splashing the third – which is incidentally my favorite color combination). Thus if you’re already in those colors and you start to see Bonesplitters and Watchers you may also be able to switch in. It’s also feasible to draft Blue/White slivers but it wouldn’t really be a Sliver deck per se; it would just be a U/W deck with a Psionic Sliver and some Watcher Slivers thrown in.
Oh yeah and Thrill of the Hunt is the stones if you have Green as a main color and White in the deck.
Round 1: In game 1 I played turn 2 Spined Sliver turn 3 Totem and turn 4 Might Sliver. On the next turn he didn’t block so I cast Thrill of the Hunt twice before Grapeshotting his morph for two and him for one. This prompted the concession. In game 2 I mulled an all-land hand into a four-lander while he smashed me with Looter Shapeshifter and Outrider en-Kor. I managed to win a close race in game 3 by killing a Castle Raptors with both halves of Thrill of the Hunt then animating three lands with my Tiller.
Round 2: My opponent had almost all the Black cards I passed in the draft. In game 1 I mulliganed and drew a lot of lands but he had an awkward mana draw needing to use Prismatic Lens to play all his Black spells. He Assassinated my Penumbra Spider (which didn’t seem too good for him) but Madnessed out a Nightshade Assassin to 2-for-0 me killing both Spinneret Sliver and Bonesplitter Sliver. He started to get flooded toward the end of the game and my Weatherseed Totem took it down. In game two he played a Soul Collector but I had two Penumbra Spiders. He accidentally attacked his Trespasser il-Vec into my Spider without shadow and in a later turn he sent his Skittering Monstrosity into my Weatherseed Totem (which I had enough mana to replay and reactivate) so that he could play…another Skittering Monstrosity. I won this game as well.
