This deck would have been excellent had I not been biased against taking White cards. I took Looter first, hoping to put the people behind me into White. Unfortunately I didn’t really see any more Blue cards. I eventually got into Green, but it seems like the people behind me were there too since I got nothing in pack 2. The deck still ended up alright, thanks to my rare and Timeshifted cards.
I beat Kenji Tsumura in the first round by playing Dragon Whelp twice. The first time it outraced his slow draw, and the second he just didn’t play lands.
In the second round I lost to a superior Red/Green deck. I won the first game easily by wrecking him with Thrill of the Hunt. He won on turn 6 of game 2 by flipping Hermit turn 5, and playing double Strength in Numbers turn 6. Game 3 was close, and I was looking pretty good with the two Dragons and Basalt Gargoyle in play, but I was a little short on Red mana, and he had Penumbra Spider which gave him just enough time to outrace me when he drew Strength in Numbers the turn before he would die.
