Despite the fact that I hate Green, I’ll still take a bomb like Thelonite Hermit first. My aversion to Green let me get out quickly when I noticed it was completely cut off. I quickly got into Blue/Red, and didn’t look back, but I still ended up a few cards short, and had to play eighteen land and Cancel.
In the first round I played against what looked like a good Red/Black deck. In the first game I had a good draw, which curved out and then had Cancel for his Triskelavus. In the next game I curved out again, and then burned him out with Cannonade and Psionic Blast after he stopped my creatures.
In the second round I played against a Blue/Green deck that I got an early lead on in game 1, and then finished him with Orgg by removing his blockers with Snapback and Coral Trickster. In the next game he answered my turn 2 War Marshal with Wormwood Dryad. His next creature was Phantom Wurm which I Temporal Eddied, and Snapbacked before winning with Stormcloud Djinn and Psionic Blast.
