Daily Digest: What’s In The Vault?

Sure Second Sunrise is banned, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun! GerryT heads to Japan again to track down some sweet Modern tech you can use at the $5,000 Premier IQ at #SCGSTL!

Taisuke Ishii is no stranger to Eggs, specifically in the post-Second Sunrise world. He finished 7-3 at Pro Tour Born of the Gods with a very similar deck, and he ran it back at the recent Grand Prix Kobe where he
got a respectable 31st place.

His previous version was all-in on casting Emrakul, the Aeons Torn off Krark-Clan Ironworks, but this version is a little different. This version has
eschewed the Tron lands and has a mini Polymorph option with Thopter Foundry and Blinkmoth Nexus.

This deck seems reliant on Krark-Clan Ironworks, which is certainly a weakness, but a raw Thopter Foundry with a ton of artifacts you don’t mind
sacrificing seems like a fine backup plan. Instead of trying to hardcast Emrakul, you can make a bunch of Thopters instead, which should also guarantee
victory but gain you a bunch of much needed life as well.

Ishii seems to continually fall short with the deck, but since he continues working on it, he clearly thinks it shows promise. I look forward to seeing
future iterations!
