Daily Digest: Watchwolf Control

GerryT spotlights a return to prominence from one of the most unsung good deckbuilders in the game! Need a Modern deck for Grand Prix Miami side events? Look no further!

Jonathan Sukenik, formerly known as Watchwolf92, has been quiet lately, as he’s mostly been busy with real life. It’s nice that he still finds time in his busy schedule to show everyone how it’s done.

Last weekend he finished fourth at the Open Series in Baltimore with a deck most people would say is dead. As it turns out, all you have to do with Jeskai is update your deck to fight the current common threats, and Jonathan’s deck does just that.

Lingering Souls is fantastic in G/B/X mirrors, so it’s also quite good against them out of other decks. If you’re already playing black, why not add in a little Mystical Teachings spice?

Jonathan’s deck could still use some work, as the manabase probably has a few too many Ravnica shocklands, and the sideboard appears to be scattered, but you should definitely check it out.
