Daily Digest: Taking Them To Braun Town

GerryT chronicles a Standard deck that made huge waves this weekend coupled with a respectable run that shows you why you should never ever quit!

BBD showed the world a valuable lesson last weekend — You shouldn’t drop at 0-2 because then you’d miss out on going 12-1 for the rest of weekend, only to finish 9th.

You definitely wouldn’t want to miss that.

Brian collaborated with Brad Nelson and the rest of the Roanokers to bring you this deck that goes over the top of basically everyone. Sylvan Caryatid and Courser of Kruphix are present, but they are basically small fries compared to Frontier Siege. With Frontier Siege, you can jam Ugin, the Spirit Dragon as early as Turn 4. Not many decks are beating that.

Instead of going the Sultai route like Ali Aintrazi and Gerard Fabiano, the Roanokers elected to put Ugin in an otherwise normal looking G/B Constellation shell. Should your Plan A fail, you’ve still got a solid Plan B to fall back on.
