“Treasure Cruise is great for Modern. It gives blue decks a chance against decks like B/G!”
“What happens when they put Treasure Cruise in B/G though?”
“…”
Eight discard spells, seven removal spells, and eight huge threats, not to mention the four planeswalkers that can function as either of those, plus four
Ancestral Recalls — Does that sound like a good deck?
People have talked about Treasure Cruise in all sorts of decks, and it might scare me the most coming from a midrange deck. That said, there is no low land
count, no cantrips, and no plethora of cheap spells here, so who knows how it will fare when compared to Treasure Cruise out of something like U/R Delver.
If it’s going to be good, it’s probably going to be great.
The one thing worth noting about this deck is heavy adoption of Siege Rhino in Modern. Some talked about it in the context of Birthing Pod, but what about
alongside Tarmogoyf? With Burn having a spike in popularity, surely the Rhinos (and quad Timely Reinforcements in the sideboard) are a nod to that.
This deck might be trying to do too much at once, but I could be wrong.
