It’s nice to find a deck with a positive Tron matchup, even if it’s incidental. What’s really going on here is that Avalanche Riders and Fulminator Mage combos nicely with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. Restoration Angel is a great addition because of the combos with Kiki-Jiki and Avalanche Riders. Wall of Omens is also excellent with the rest of the deck and gives you time to get your engine online. Soulfire Grand Master is nice with the cheap removal and gives you another early drop.
This deck has plenty of tricks too, from the Akroma, Angel of Fury you can blink with Restoration Angel to the singleton Angel’s Grace. Reveillark is also pretty insane on the top end. In a two color deck, you can also get pretty creative with the manabase. The full amount of Cavern of Souls helps against numerous Modern decks too. Boros Garrison helps you get to your top end. Temples are also under-utilized in Modern.
Since the deck is white and red, you have some of the best sideboard options in Modern. Some of the best Burn, Affinity, graveyard, and combo hate is in these colors. We could also hate on Tron a little bit, but all of that is already maindeck!
