When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one brewer to sever his bonds with the hive mind, lest the hive mind reduce them under absolute tyranny, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all decks are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Twenty Life, Seven Cards, and the Pursuit of a Top 8. That to secure these rights Metagames are instituted among Men, deriving their powers from the just consent of the players. That whenever any Metagame becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the Players to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new Metagame, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect the Health of tournaments.
The history of the present Metagame is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an unhealthy Metagame over these Players. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
G/W Tokens wins basically every tournament (unless Seth Manfield decides to play a different deck).
Green and White in general are much too strong.
Incited Rabble is the most commonly played red card in Standard.
Blue has been reduced to a mere splash color in order to gain access to Reflector Mage.
Black is only playable because its removal spells line up well against Green and White creatures.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have availed ourselves of new and creative archetypes to break the monotony of Standard. We have paired powerful Dragons and Dragon-tribal cards with the all-powerful Reflector Mage to create a cohesive tempo strategy. Supplementing these cards with cheap fliers and and burn spells gives us a means to ignore the attrition game of G/W Tokens and overpower Bant Humans.
The sideboard includes many cards against Control strategies and more cheap removal against aggressive decks. This deck is poised to break the stranglehold that Green and White based decks have on our beloved format, for too long have our appeals to dignity and justice fallen on deaf ears.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the Hive Mind, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of this Community, solemnly publish and declare, That this Standard Format is, and of Right ought to be Free; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the G/W Tokens and Bant Humans.
