Brad Nelson almost played this deck at last week’s Open Series in Minneapolis. If you know Brad, that either means it’s either really good or really bad.
In the end, he chose to play B/W Aggro, while TombSimon, the deck’s creator, narrowly missed day two with the deck at Grand Prix Stockholm.
Raise the Alarm, Hordeling Outburst, and Goblin Rabblemaster are great token producers, but the key is finding something to make them relevant. Simon
turned to the underplayed Eidolon of Countless Battles. End Hostilities, Anger of the Gods, and (to a lesser extent) Drown in Sorrow certainly see a lot of
play, and each are quite good against the Eidolon, but you can play around those if you’re careful. It’s not easy, but it can be done.
The real draw for the deck is that it’s fast, consistent, and has a rock solid two-color manabase. If that doesn’t appeal to you in this three color
format, I’m not sure what will.
