Whenever an opponent casts an instant or sorcery spell, they may pay 2. If they don’t, you may copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Wandering Archaic is a weird card, but in a good way. Playing this card around the Commander table is a good way to tax your opponents without doing something so annoying that it puts a target on your back. Plus, it allows you to play a more political game — choosing what to copy and who to target with it. Not to mention this card is colorless, making it an easy addition to any deck!
Each player looks at the top five cards of their library, reveals a land card and/or an instant or sorcery card from among them, then puts the cards they revealed this way into their hand and the rest on the bottom of their library in a random order. Each player gains 3 life.
On the flip side, Explore the Vastlands continues to spread the wealth, allowing each player to fill their hand with lands and spells and gain life. While Wandering Archaic may not be an ideal creature for most constructed formats, Explore the Vastlands is a nice tool for control decks, filling their hand with strong spells and simultaneously hitting their land drops.
