Daily Digest: Sidisi’s Soul

GerryT notes a shocking and effective twist to the life of the Brood Tyrant we all know and love. As Gerry points out, it seems that this Standard format knows no bounds!

You might think the correct M15 Soul to pair with Sidisi, Brood Tyrant is Soul of Innistrad, but you might be surprised to learn that Soul of Theros might
be even better!

This deck has been crushing tournaments in the Kansas area for a while now and even recently took down a PTQ! It uses some self-mill cards (Satyr
Wayfinder, Commune with the Gods, and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant) in order to trigger Sidisi as much as possible, as well as fill its graveyard to enable the
delve on Murderous Cut and Treasure Cruise.

Another important aspect of the deck is the chance to mill into a Soul of Theros, which makes combat a nightmare for your opponent. Not only does the
lifelink put you out of range of a lethal counterattack, it also allows your creatures to attack without fear into some of Hornet Queen’s insect tokens.

On top of everything else, it has the ability to go up to a whopping four copies of Anafenza, the Foremost, which does a great job at hating out graveyard
decks, especially those based around Sidisi. As I mentioned earlier, the mirror has been increasingly common in Kansas, and with Whip of Erebos decks doing
pretty well lately, it might be a good place to be.
