At first glance, this Bant deck bears a lot of similarities to the deck from Part Two, but this is far more down the Aggro Gifts path. It’s gone so far down that path that there are no longer any Gifts Ungivens!
Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl is still present, but this time Lotus Cobra is also trying to make some crazy turns happen. Knight of the Reliquary assists in that regard. Instead of Gifts Ungiven, Chord of Calling steps in to find the bullets you need. Polukranos, World Eater seems appropriate, especially since Knight of the Reliquary can search up Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.
Garruk, Primal Hunter is often overlooked as too expensive for Modern, or because people are playing Garruk, Wildspeaker instead. After all, Garruk, Wildspeaker has excellent synergy with Utopia Sprawl. However, if you were already able to generate a bunch of mana, what would you want more – a bunch of mana or a bunch of cards? I can certainly see the case for cards over mana, especially since you’ll end up with a lot of mana to cast those cards quickly.
Now that we’re going this far down the rabbit hole, I wonder if the old favorite Sovereigns of Lost Alara wouldn’t be a good fit here. Cavern of Souls would make Remand a non-issue. Sovereigns of Lost Alara is a spirit and Geist of Saint Traft is probably the best creature to put an Eldrazi Conscription on. Then again, that might be an entirely different deck.
