Despite having a large turnout of players, it was made readily apparent early on in the event that the deck to beat was going to be Yorion Jeskai Lukka. With a whopping 464 copies in the event (18.8159% of the metagame), Yorion Jeskai Lukka posted an outrageous overall win rate of 60.7266%, and put two copies into the Top 8.

As expected, the finals came down to a battle of the Yorion decks — with Gob123 on Yorion Azorius Control versus Tatsumaki on Yorion Jeskai Lukka.

In the end, Gob123’s ten maindeck counterspells were just too much for Tatsumaki’s combo-oriented Yorion deck to punch through, and Gob123 was able to secure the 2-1 victory, becoming the Red Bull Untapped International Qualifier 1 champion.
