02.27.04 “I read recently that you are a member of the Beta-testing team for Magic Online. I don’t live near a lot of players and I often have to wait an extra month to compete with new sets. I realize that there are many bugs, but I think it would be a great boon to me to be able to access the cards online before they go live on Magic Online. What steps do I need to take in order to become a beta-tester?” – Bob Braswell
Well Bob, as I’m sure you know all too well, Wizards is actually an evil corporation bent on draining every nickel they can in return for as cheap a product as they can hand out. Therefore they would never extend the courtesy of allowing you to get any free use out of their products.
Just kidding. Wizards has actually cultivated a great environment for competitive play both online and in the”real” world. I’ve been informed that the recent situation involving the theft of information on Magic Online Beta has closed the doors to new testers. While I don’t know if this is permanent, at this time they are not accepting any new Beta-testers. If this situation changes, I will apprise you in this column.
