The YouTuber who posted multiple unboxing videos that leaked the entirety of March of the Machine: The Aftermath last week claims Wizards of the Coast (WotC) sent the Pinkertons to his house to recover the product.
Oldschoolmtg posted a video Saturday where he explained what happened when members of the private security agency came to his house and took all of the cards, tokens, and packaging from March of the Machine: The Aftermath, stating that it was stolen property. The YouTuber said that the Collector Booster boxes of the set, which isn’t slated to release until May 12, were not stolen, but were confused with March of the Machine boxes. He thinks the wrong products were shipped to the person he bought the cards from, and that person didn’t know the difference as they primarily deal with Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!
The YouTuber said the Pinkerton agents threw around the words “stolen” and “jail time” while they recovered the product. They also gave him a card with a number of a person at WotC to call about the situation. The person he talked to was “apologetic” and said WotC wanted the product back so it could figure out how the unreleased set made it into his hands and “plug the hole.” The WotC representative also said the company would send out other product as compensation. Oldschoolmtg said the representative was cordial and apologized for having to send the Pinkertons to his house.
Oldschoolmtg has since removed all the unboxing videos of March of the Machine: The Aftermath from his channel and recommended anyone using his videos or screenshots of the cards to delete them. Previews for the micro set are scheduled to begin on May 2, following the story on May 1. The cards and story will depict the end of the Dominaria United story arc.
