Kassis, a two-time Grand Prix champion and SCG Tour Invitational champion, notched his first major victory since moving into the MPL following last year’s dominant run through the Rivals League. Kassis had to sweat his tiebreakers at the end of Round 15, as he and 10 other players finished with 11 match wins and only five would make the Top 8 cut. When the dust had settled, Kassis snuck in as the eighth seed setting up a a first-round match in the upper bracket against Jim Davis, who cruised through the first two days of competition with a perfect 12-0 record.

With his back to the wall, Kassis strung together two wins to set up another match against Miyano with a ticket to the title match on the line. The Orzhov Venture deck put on a show, with Kassis completing the Dungeon of the Mad Mage in the final game to secure Kassis the final match and the title of Neon Dynasty champion for $20,000 and an invitation to the World Championship.
