The Hunter Burton Memorial Open returns this weekend for the ninth year and will host multiple Magic: the Gathering and Flesh and Blood tournaments.
The HBMO is a charity tournament aimed at spreading awareness to prevent suicide that honors Hunter Burton. The tournament takes place at the Hurst Conference Center in Hurst, Texas with a VIP opening ceremony tomorrow, followed by a plethora of events on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend’s main event is a two-day Modern 10K that will be streamed on the HBMO Twitch channel. Entry fee is $55 and the event has a cap of 600 players.
Saturday night will feature the Ian Jasheway Memorial Event, a JumpStart sealed event with all proceeds benefitting the Ian Jasheway scholarship fund. Other events on Saturday include a Legacy 1K and a Flesh and Blood Classic Constructed 1K. Sunday’s events include a Chaos Sealed tournament, a Vintage side event, and a Flesh and Blood Blitz Constructed 1K.
