Werewolf decks have lacked early plays and Ascendant Packleader looks to slot right in for the builds focused on Arlinn, the Pack’s Hope and friends.
Ascendant Packleader enters the battlefield with a +1+1 counter on it if you control a permanent with mana value 4 or greater.
Whenever you cast a spell with mana value 4 or greater, put a +1+1 counter on Ascendant Packleader.
Ascendant Packleader is an aggressive one-drop with two power than can grow as the game goes on and can be played later in the game as more than just a 2/1 for one. Even if you don’t have Ascendant Packleader on the first turn it will help fill in the gaps on your curve while paying you off for playing bigger threats like Esika’s Chariot and Wrenn and Seven.
