Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced the Double Masters VIP Edition.
According to Principal Product Designer, Mike Turian, Double Masters VIP Edition is designed to “capture the goodness our players have been loving around Collector Boosters but in a product customized to a set that is 100% reprint cards.”
The VIP Edition has 40 possible VIP Edition borderless cards, with each product containing two randomly chosen from the pool of 40. Each VIP Edition borderless card represents “some of the most played cards from Commander, Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer…” and the VIP Edition is “the only place that these cards are available in foil for Double Masters.”
Beyond the two VIP Edition borderless cards, the VIP Edition also contains the following:
- 2 foil rares/mythic rares
- 8 foil uncommons
- 9 foil commons
- 10 full-art basic lands (only found in VIP edition, 2 of each basic)
- 2 foil full-art basic lands (only found in VIP edition, 2 randomly selected from among the 10 options)
- 2 foil tokens (only found in VIP edition, token on both sides)
Double Masters is currently scheduled to release on August 7.
