Lurrus of the Dream-Den fits perfectly in Grixis decks of all shapes and sizes in Legacy, whether you pair the companion with Baleful Strix and Snapcaster Mage or Young Pyromancer and Dreadhorde Arcanist or Delver of Secrets. Ryan_39 went the route of Grixis Control, utilizing the first two, building more of a card-advantage engine than the previous Legacy Super Qualifier winner utilizing Young Pyromancer.

In fact, Ryan_39 out-controlled a Lurrus Jeskai Miracles deck in the quarterfinals and a Yorion Four-Color Control deck in the semifinals before facing Lurrus Golgari Depths in the finals. Ryan_39 came out on top of the Depths deck 2-0, showcasing the power of Grixis Control even when not facing Delver of Secrets and other tempo-oriented decks. The three copies of Hymn to Tourach stand out as haymakers for the control matchups.
