Riot Games has announced that Riftbound, the League of Legends trading card game, will be supporting French as an official language starting mid-2026.
Announced during the Team Fight Tactics (TFT) Paris Open, developers revealed that French will become the third official language supported by Riftbound, alongside Chinese (Simplified) and English. According to Riot, the French language integration will be rolled out in phases, beginning with the game’s first set, Riftbound: Origins, in mid-2026, followed by Spiritforged and other subsequent sets thereafter.
In the time since its global debut at the end of October, Riftbound has already amassed a huge, dedicated fan-base, with players from all over the world clamoring to acquire cards and make their mark on the rapidly growing competitive scene.
Undeterred by limited card availability, scores of players attended Riftbound’s SCG CON debut last month in Las Vegas, NV, where the Sunday $10K Main Event reached its preregistration cap weeks prior to the event and side events quickly followed. Two weeks later, Riftbound’s first official Regional Qualifier took place in Houston, TX, drawing in over 1,100 players in the main event.
As 2025 comes to a close, players looking for their next high-level Riftbound experience will want to mark January 9-11, 2026 in their calendars, as SCG CON returns to Atlanta, GA. Join us for a weekend packed with events for Magic: The Gathering, Flesh and Blood, Disney Lorcana, and of course, Riftbound! For the full lineup of events, vendors, special guests, and more, head over to the SCG CON Atlanta webpage and we’ll see you there!
