MTG Weekly Announces New Set: “Jumpstart”

MTG Weekly has announced a new set – Jumpstart – coming this summer!

Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced today, a new booster product called Jumpstart during their MTG weekly Twitch stream. Jumpstart features cards that share synergy and tribes, and are designed to be shuffled together to create a “themed” version of Sealed.

Each Jumpstart booster pack contains 20 cards and a “Theme” card, that provides direction for the player via keywords, such as “Spooky”, along with a coordinating mana symbol. Jumpstart contains a total of 46 unique themes, which are primarily mono-colored, but some higher-rarity cards may be multi-colored.

The set contains over 500 cards, including 400+ reprints and 37 brand-new cards, printed specifically for Jumpstart. An unknown number of Core Set 2021 cards will be included as well, while all other cards will only be legal in Magic’s Eternal formats. Jumpstart will also include brand new basic lands, designed to match the theme of each booster.

Fans can get a first look at Jumpstart during the official prerelease the weekend of June 20-21, where participants will be given two wrapped booster packs and a promotional card, which will be combined to make 40-card decks.

Jumpstart officially releases July 3 and will be on MTG Arena later in the year. The price of individual booster packs and boxes is currently unknown.
