Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has released their weekly MTG Arena update overview, including details on Mad Science events, Innistrad: Double Feature drafts, and more.
Mad Science Event Starts Friday
Players get another chance at earning Eternal Night showcase styles for Innistrad: Crimson Vow cards during the Mad Science event set for January 21-February 1. The format for the event will be Alchemy, but players have a specual Zombies! emblem that reads “Whenever you cast an instant of sorcery spell, amass X, where X is that spell’s mana value.” More details can be found here.
Innistrad: Double Feature Drafts Begin Next Week
Innistrad: Double Feature comes to MTG Arena on January 28 and runs until February 10. Players will get to draft from packs that contain cards from both Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Innistrad: Crimson Vow. Each pack will also come with two rares — one from each set. Each draft awards the player with a Dracula card style that they don’t already have. Unfortunately, the silver screen treatments from tabletop Innistrad: Double Feature will not appear on MTG Arena.
Innistrad: Double Feature events will fall under Ranked Best-of-One drafts and will cost 10,000 gold or 1,500 gems to enter. Competitors will play until they reach seven wins or three losses, with the prize structure being only gems unlike premier drafts that reward packs and gems.
