After being banned in Commander immediately upon being previewed last week, Lutri, the Spellchaser is now banned in Brawl as well.
The decision to ban Lutri in these formats is largely based on the requirements for its companion mechanic, which demand the player must only have singleton copies of each card in their library.
Companion – Each nonland card in your starting deck has a different name.
Obviously, this requirement is met by default in Commander and Brawl, and Wizards of the Coast (WotC) believes this would “create a large imbalance between decks capable of including Lutri and those that can’t.”
Currently, there are no future Banned and Restricted Announcements planned.
