Eye And Hand Of Vecna Previewed From Adventures In The Forgotten Realms

Take a look at the other two pieces you need to combine with The Book of Vile Darkness to summon Vecna.

Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Luis Scott-Vargas, check out two legendary artifacts from Adventures in the Forgotten Realms — Eye of Vecna and Hand of Vecna!

First up, Eye of Vecna is a legendary artifact that immediately draws you a card for two life and two mana.

When Eye of Vecna enters the battlefield, you draw a card and you lose 2 life.

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay 2. If you do, you draw a card and you lose 2 life.

From there, on each of your turns you can pay two life for another card, giving you plenty of card advantage as long as you’re willing to pay the price. Being an artifact also means it can show up in any deck that might need a boost in drawing cards.

Hand of Vecna is a legendary Equipment that can provide a substantial boost to power and toughness for a no-mana equip cost if you’re willing to pay some life.

At the beginning of combat on your turn, equipped creature or a creature you control named Vecna gets +X+X until end of turn, where X is the number of cards in your hand.

Equip — Pay 1 life for each card in your hand.

Equip 2

If you don’t have the life to pay the equip cost you can also just pay 2. Of course, if you happen to have Eye of Vecna, Hand of Vecna, and the previously previewed The Book of Vile Darkness, prepare to get a Vecna token.

The Vecna token, which hasn’t been previewed yet, will have all the abilities from all three cards, which makes the text on Hand of Vecna a little clearer.

What do you think of Hand of Vecna and Eye of Vecna? Are you ready to assemble all three legendary artifacts and create Vecna?
