Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and CBR.com, check out four more cards coming in Historic Anthology 5 — Dragonstorm, Grisly Salvage, Relic of Progenitus, and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur!
Dragonstorm joins the handful of cards with Storm in Historic following the Mystical Archive additions, though it still appears that there isn’t enough support in the form of fast mana and rituals to make the cards problematic. Of course, Dragonstorm made a huge impact on Standard when it was reprinted in Time Spiral thanks to cards like Rite of Flame, Seething Song, and Lotus Bloom. Until Historic gets enough fast mana and Dragons that can one-shot an opponent, Dragonstorm looks to be safe and a potential fun build-around card.
Another Praetor from New Phyrexia, Jin-Gitaxias joins Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Urabrask the Hidden in Historic Anthology 5. This one looks to be a surefire reanimation target and potential Brawl all-star.
Grisly Salvage was a great graveyard enabler in its time in Standard, fueling the Abzan Reanimator deck of the time. Historic already has a lot going on with graveyards, but this is one of the first injections Golgari gets and it’s something that can play well with Unburial Rites.
With graveyard enablers comes graveyard hosers. Few cards provide as much disruption for one mana while also being able to replace itself when not needed.
Historic Anthology 5 will be released on May 27 and include 25 cards.
