As part of an ongoing series of weekly changes, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced the updates and changes coming this week to Magic Online.
Khans Expanded Cube
Until March 4, players can enjoy the Khans Expanded Cube, which “pays homage to the beloved triple-Khans of Tarkir Limited format”. This format will be available beginning Wednesday, February 26 and features several new cards, which you can see below.
Showcase Challenge Weekend
Returning this weekend are the Showcase Challenges, which are a set of linked Magic Online Champions Showcase (MOCS) events designed to highlight the best players on Magic Online each season, culminating in the Champions Showcase and its prize pool of $70,000 and a Players Tour Finals invitation.
Each Showcase Challenge will cost 40QP to enter and the schedule is as follows:
Saturday, February 29
- Standard Showcase – 6AM PT
- Modern Showcase – 8 AM PT
- Theros Beyond Death Sealed – 9AM PT
Sunday, March 1
- Pioneer Showcase – 6AM PT
- Legacy Showcase – 8AM PT
- Pauper Showcase – 10AM PT
Format Challenges
Playing in Format Challenges help players qualify for Premier Play and are available each weekend “except when replaced by Showcase Challenges during scheduled Showcase Challenge dates.”
