Black Gets Unique Human Ninja In Tatsunari, Toad Rider In MTG Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty

Legendary Human Ninja from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty rides into battle on a giant Frog companion!

Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC), check out this unique Human Ninja from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty — Tatsunari, Toad Rider!

Whenever you cast an enchantment spell, if you don’t control a creature named Keimi, create Keimi, a legendary 3/3 black and green Frog creature token with “Whenever you cast an enchantment spell, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.”

1U/G: Tatsunari, Toad Rider and target Frog you control can’t be blocked this turn except by creatures with flying or reach.

Let’s just get this out of the way — Tatsunari, Toad Rider is a Ninja riding a giant Frog and that’s awesome.

Anyways, a three-mana 3/3, Tatsunari, Toad Rider has average stats, but when enchantments are involved, you can generate an extra 3/3 token for some nice added value. Additionally, Keimi (the Frog token), will gain and drain for one life each time you cast an enchantment, which could lead to some interesting infinite damage combos if you can amass the right cards to repeatedly cast an enchantment.

Overall, Tatsunari feels like a great threat for Limited, plus a sweet commander for enchantment-focused decks. Not to mention its potential in Ninja, Human, or even Frog tribal, depending on how you look at it.

So what do you think of Tatsunari, Toad Rider? Tell us what decks you think this legendary creature would fit best in and what combos work best with Keimi in the comments.
