Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and TCG Player Infinite, check out this unique sweeper from Commander Legends — Necrotic Hex!
Each player sacrifices six creatures. You create six tapped 2/2 black Zombie creature tokens.
Although Necrotic Hex costs a hefty seven mana, it’s well worth the investment as it is likely removes a majority of the creatures on the battlefield and fills yours with a small army of 2/2s.
Also important to note, creatures are sacrificed rather than being destroyed, meaning it cleanly deals with indestructible creatures. It also forces you to sacrifice your own creatures, so Necrotic Hex can be situationally paired with cards that have beneficial death triggers to gain even more value!
Previewed alongside Necrotic Hex is a unique Elf Shaman that siphons life and grows larger for each land your opponents play — Nightshade Harvester!
A four-mana 2/2, Nightshade Harvester is likely to grow big fast, especially if you have a lot of opponents. Additionally, the loss of life that comes as a tax for playing lands may seem incremental, but adds up quickly against opponents looking to ramp up their mana.
So what do you think of Necrotic Hex and Nightshade Harvester? Will either of these cards find a place in your next Commander deck? Let us know in the comments below!
