Anteri Wins MagicFest Online Season 1 Finals

Congratulations to the winner of the MagicFest Online Season One Finals!

The past three weeks of MagicFest Online events all lead to this weekend’s MagicFest Online Season 1 Finals, in which some of MTG Arena’s best fought for the title of Season 1 Finals Champion.

Playing the popular Rakdos Sacrifice deck, Fabrizio “LaCriaturaBB” Anteri entered the Top 8 as the second seed and quickly defeated his quarterfinal and semifinal opponents – advancing to the finals against David “laboomboom” Rood, winner of Pro Tour Atlanta 2005.

Anteri quickly found copies of his deck’s key cards – Witch’s Oven and Cauldron Familiar – and was able to take the Game 1 after grinding out Rood’s life total.

In Game 2, Rood’s Jeskai Fires deck saw better draws and was able to curve Fires of Invention into Cavalier of Flame and Kenrith, the Returned King to score an easy win

Anteri quickly bounced back in Game 3, once again assembling the Cat-Oven combo, this time featuring Mayhem Devil backup. The incremental damage plus removal proved to be too much, and after a timely Stonecoil Serpent, Anteri was able to close out the game, making him the MagicFest Online Season 1 Finals Champion.
